Convert the Pages You Need, Not the Entire PDF
People often need a particular report page, slide, form, chart, catalog sheet or scanned record as an image. Visual thumbnails, per-document ranges and odd/even selection make that workflow faster and reduce unnecessary rendering.
Each thumbnail can be selected independently. Rotation and crop values are stored per page, while bulk controls apply the same preparation to the current selection.
Ten Original Conversion Templates
The templates cover web sharing, print detail, text and line art, email attachments, presentation slides, social page cards, grayscale archives, fixed-width thumbnails, contact sheets and experimental embedded-image extraction.
These are editable conversion profiles rather than decorative screenshots. Selecting one changes the real format, DPI, quality, resize, colour and filename settings used by the output renderer.
JPG, PNG and WebP Output
JPG is widely compatible and efficient for photos or ordinary page previews. PNG is lossless and is often better for text, diagrams, screenshots and line art. WebP can reduce web-image size in modern browsers.
Changing a PDF page into any raster format converts the visible page to pixels. It does not convert PDF text into editable image text.
DPI, Pixel Dimensions and Quality
DPI converts the physical PDF page dimensions into output pixels. A standard A4 page rendered at 300 DPI is much larger than the same page at 96 or 150 DPI, so print settings require more memory and produce larger files.
JPG and WebP quality affect lossy compression. PNG is lossless, so the quality slider is disabled for PNG. Optional resizing can cap the final width after rendering.
Page Crop, Rotation and Cleanup
Per-page rotation is useful for mixed-orientation scans. Percentage crop controls can remove scanner borders or unwanted margins without modifying the original PDF.
Grayscale and threshold-based black-and-white modes are practical for simple archives, but they are not OCR, adaptive deskew or professional scan restoration.
Batch PDFs, Naming and ZIP Download
Multiple PDFs can be opened in one workspace. Filename tokens such as {pdf}, {page}, {width} and {height} keep page exports predictable, while number padding keeps files in the correct order.
Images can be downloaded individually or packaged into one local ZIP. An optional contact sheet provides a quick visual index of all converted results.
Embedded Images versus Full Page Rendering
Full-page mode reproduces the visible layout of the PDF page. Embedded-image mode instead attempts to recover common raster objects that PDF.js exposes from the page content stream.
A PDF can contain vector graphics, masks, tiled images, form objects or unusual image encodings. When an original raster object cannot be recovered, the module uses a rendered-page fallback rather than claiming a perfect extraction.
Password-Protected PDFs and Privacy
A password field is available for PDFs that PDF.js can unlock. The password remains in the current page and is not sent to analytics or a conversion server.
Files are held in browser memory, generated image URLs are temporary and clearing the workspace revokes them. No automatic permanent history is created.
Live Previews While You Work
The workspace includes visual page thumbnails, a selected-page strip, source/output comparison, cleanup preview, filename preview, sticky active-page preview and final result cards.
All previews use the same page selection and settings state, so the user does not have to scroll back to a single preview left at the top of the page.
PDF to JPG versus Related Tools
Use JPG to PDF when starting with images and building a PDF. Use Split PDF when the desired output should remain a PDF page. Use Image Compressor or Image Resizer after conversion when the main requirement is to change the resulting image files.
PDF Compressor reduces an existing PDF, while PDF to JPG deliberately rasterizes selected pages into separate image files.

Page Rendering, Extract Images from PDF and Browser Limits
- Converted images do not contain selectable text, links, forms, bookmarks, layers or accessibility tags.
- The experimental embedded-image mode cannot recover every PDF image object or vector element.
- OCR, text extraction and searchable-image generation are not included.
- Very high DPI or many large pages can exceed browser memory; sequential conversion reduces but cannot remove that device limit.
- The ZIP uses store mode because JPG, PNG and WebP are already compressed; the ZIP may be close to the combined image size.
- Corrupted PDFs, unsupported encryption and unusual colour profiles may not render exactly like a dedicated desktop PDF application.

Are my PDFs uploaded to the server?
No. PDF.js reads and renders the selected PDF files in your browser. PDF contents, passwords, filenames and generated images are not uploaded for conversion.
Can I convert only selected pages?
Yes. Select pages from visual thumbnails, use odd or even selection, invert the current selection or apply a range such as 1-3,5 to each open PDF.
What is the best DPI for PDF to JPG?
Around 96–150 DPI is usually enough for screen sharing, 180–220 DPI helps detailed text, and 300 DPI is a common print target. Higher values create larger images and use more memory.
Can I download all pages in one ZIP?
Yes. The tool packages converted images into a local store-only ZIP file. You can also download each result individually.
Does it support PNG and WebP?
Yes. JPG is the primary compact output, PNG is useful for sharp text and line art, and WebP can create lightweight web images in compatible browsers.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?
Many standard encrypted PDFs can be opened by entering the correct password. Unsupported encryption or damaged files may still fail.
Does it extract the original images inside a PDF?
The experimental mode attempts to recover common raster image objects exposed by PDF.js. Complex masks, vector artwork, form objects or unsupported encodings may fall back to a rendered full-page image.
Will the JPG keep searchable text and links?
No. An exported image contains pixels only. Searchable text, links, forms, bookmarks and PDF accessibility data remain only in the original PDF.
Can I crop and rotate pages before conversion?
Yes. Each page has rotation and top, right, bottom and left percentage crop controls. Bulk rotation and equal crop can be applied to all selected pages.
Why can a large PDF be slow on mobile?
High-DPI rendering creates large canvases in device memory. Convert smaller selections, choose a lower DPI or use a maximum output width when working on memory-limited devices.
